New Year, New Things!

Hello everyone,

I am SO sorry it's been such a long time. The last two months of my semester were extremely hectic. I apologize for not posting anything and I very much appreciate your patience. However, I do have a very nice new year's gift for you guys....new poems!

I was busy writing poems during my poetry workshop class, and now that semester is over I have posted all of the poems I wrote in the class. There's a whole new row of poems for you to read and enjoy. I won't go into detail with all of them, but there's a few I'll give some insight on.

Shotgun Love is actually a poem I wrote set in the Astrid universe. It's from Amin's point of view. When it stands on it's own it works too, but when you read it with that contextual knowledge it makes it a little more intersting.

being funny in a foreign language was simply me trying to write a poem based around the title of The 1975's new album lol.

And then there's the final four. I Wish I Was Wade Watts, I Wish I Wasn't Artemis, Hokkaido, and Is There Somebody Who Can Watch You? (yes that's a song title I used it for a poem title too. I do that a lot.) These 4 poems are connected and are part of one storyline of two characters. So there are 4 parts and reading them in order tells the whole story. It's like a mini story but in poem form. Kind of. I promise it makes sense when you read them all.

Outside of poetry, I did set a major 2023 goal for myself- get back into prose writing!!! It's been killing me so bad. I'm on break right now so for the next two weeks I'm going to hammer away and continue working on How You See The World, which if you follow my instagram, you know I've been teasing for a while. I also have begun work on a novel, the second book in the Astrid trilogy.....buttttt I'm keeping the details of that super hush hush especially since we are still trying to get the first one published. (fingers crossed this is the year we make some progress!!)
